Thamesians 1XV manage to keep a clean sheet and beat Hatfield by 15 points.
However the score could have been even higher if it hadn't been for the hands or rather the lack of them from Zippy. After some strong play from the forwards and a Lightning break from Matty Yates, Yates managed to draw two (some would argue three) men, and putting his body on the line he delayed the pass right up to the moment of impact, he popped the ball out to a unmarked Zippy. With such a perfect pass, Yates could only asume a certain try would result as he was knocked off his feet and driven backwards. However along with the thud of himself hitting the floor he also heard the squeals of Zippy, as with only 15m to go and a clear field ahead, Zippy watched the ball bounce right out of the bread basket and forward onto the floor. Reading previous match reports written by the man himself you can only wonder how the mighty have fallen?
Although there was some great performances around the pitch, Kingston Keiths defence and cover on the wing, the tireless foraging of Lance and Nicks backrow play, along with the now expected disruptive play of Marlon to name a few, Thamesians did at times look like a team slightly lost. So with another good win under their belt, strides now have to be made to pull the team together and get it working as a unit if they are rise to the top of the league.
