A legacy for Thamesians RFC. Being the first Ladies team to be established in the club we are proud to be part of Thamesians history.
Our Story - Thamesians Ladies are a vibrant rugby team based in Twickenham. This new team was only set up in early 2018, but have had enormous success already. The Ladies team was kicked off by participating in various rugby 7s tournaments throughout the Summer of 2018. We played our first ever 15s game in October 2018 with a great win over Fullerians with the game finishing 75 – 5 to Thamesians Ladies.
We now have around 20 girls committed to the team, and have had a successful start as a club! With both a successful 7s season as well as an incredible start to our first season playing 15s. Over the last 7 months the Ladies have played multiple games, one of the games we had the pleasure of hosting a Ladies rugby team from Suresnes, France competing for the coveted trophy Le Coq. Thamesians Ladies were also finalists in the Surrey Development Cup coming up against a very strong London Irish side. In preparation for next season a lot of work is going on behind the scenes to ensure the Ladies are entered in to their first 15s league.
We welcome all abilities and currently have a range of players, from experienced 15s players to those who had never touched a rugby ball before joining the team, to those who just want to get fit. Along with the support of two experienced coaches, this makes our training sessions the perfect environment to surprise yourself and give rugby a try!
Our ethos - In Thamesians all players are equal and a positive attitude throughout the team is our priority; the culture of our club is its biggest strength.
