After the success of the day last March it is intended to organise another Golden Oldies day to watch Thamesians on Saturday 15th December 2018.
Rory O’Reilly is helping me with organising this day and will confirm details nearer to the time but please SAVE THE DATE.
Several things – the intention will be to meet before the game at the pavilion (time tbc). Since Christmas there has been a major effort by TRFC to catch up on many years of inertia and get the building in to order. Hopefully everyone will be impressed. The council have now addressed the external building issues and work is in hand to ensure the front of house bar area is much improved for the new season. Memorabilia will be on display 12 months per year so space is now shared with the cricketers. Apologies if any favourite photos are missing. A collaborative approach with TCC will hopefully ensure the improvements to the facilities keep up with the improvements on the pitch!
There will be food after the game so please give Rory an idea on whether you will be attending (Contact Rory here)
Most importantly the aim is to play this fixture at Waldegrave School. Negotiations are underway to return to the spiritual home of the club and play on the top field of what once was Thames Valley School. Hopefully that will bring back memories.
This need not be the only fixture you attend – see attached list – check for changes on the Thamesians website. The more support the better. And be careful to be sure whether the game is at Waldegrave School or Marble Hill!
