Space Cowboys - Vets League A
The writing was on the wall about how this game would go for Thamesians at 9pm on Thursday night!!
Only 4 first team regulars at training. We were already rusty after a prolonged break but this turnout just took away our oil can and left us rigid at the joints.
On to Saturday and game day :
Email said coaches leave at 12:00 .... 12:25 we were in the clubhouse watching the second worst game of rugby we would see that day. Brumbies Vs Western Force. Bus Journey - We had the game won and all looking forward to a beer afterwards
Game - Quintin showed up to play and we looked like a team that had never played together, worse in fact - we looked like a team of guys who didnt even like each other. In fighting and lack of any kind structure killed us. A few positives to take from the game. Some very strong running and finishing from Zippy, Jonno,Billy, Adrian, Tramp but otherwise terrible all round. Piss poor preparation for a piss poor performance.
To rub salt into the wounds Quintins captain suggested that when we beat them at MHP (convincingly) that it was a fluke at the traffic issues due to the all blacks playing at Twickenham contributed to us playing them off the park. I dont remember the AB's playing on each of the corresponding fixtures last year.
We should look forward to putting this fixture right next year boys - If they stay up that is.
Man of the match - Tramp
Dick of the Year - Clem - Sorry Mate
