Hammersmith & Fulham Ladies II

Match Report

Being the toughest battle yet, everyone was feeling the nerves.

But the team put in the heavy tackles needed to disrupt the hard lines and big hits that Hammersmith and Fulham brought.

With a breakdown wing, Emelia made it over the try line and Thamesians were on the scoreboard.

The first half ended with a further try to Hammers giving a halftime score of 12-19.

It was neck and neck.

The second half was hard fought by Thamesians, however soon there was a further converted try from Hammers.

A well-executed driving maul by Thamesians and two strong attempts to get over the line eventually led to a further try by Thamesians which was a cause for celebration and hope. With new energy, Thamesians made a final effort to close the gap in the last play but it was not to be. The game finished at 17-26 securing third place in the league.

Although the score showed defeat, we we’re all proud of the team effort and grateful for the huge support shown on the sidelines. Back at the buzzing clubhouse: drinks, food and 3 screens of rugby meant high spirits continued.
