Part of the clubs long term vision is to foster relations with Waldgrave School via providing assistance with the coaching of pupils.
Since Thames Valley Grammar School ceased to be a co-educational establishment Thamesians have not had a feeder school. Forty years on and several events have coincided to change this. Firstly the club has moved its playing pitch back to the old school – now Waldegrave School. Secondly the school now has boys within the sixth form. Thirdly Thamesians now has a flourishing ladies section.
Waldegrave Boys are playing their first home game at home at Waldegrave School on Tuesday 22nd October against Richard Reynolds School and then playing against Orleans Park on Wednesday 13th November.
Currently the 6th form boys train on Wednesday between 3.30 and 4.30pm.
The girls sixth form group already numbers 19 players and are training on Wednesday at 3pm. After half term this will switch to 1.35 to 2.40pm
If anyone can assist with the coaching of either group then please contact JD (Jonathan Dunn). The club can arrange the required DBS checks and formal coaching qualifications are not essential. If you cannot be there each week then hopefully a rota can be formed.
