A legacy for Thamesians RFC. Being the first Ladies team to be established in the club we are proud to be a part of Thamesians history. After joining a local XVs team and eager to expand Women’s Rugby in the Twickenham area myself and Heidi James created Thamesians Ladies 7s, which now has around 20 girls committed to the team. Securing sponsorship from Professional Construction Recruitment Ltd (PCR) gave us the vital kick-start and has helped us get to where we are today.
We welcome all abilities and currently have a range of players from experienced 15s players to those who had never touched a rugby ball before joining the team to those who just want to get fit.
Throughout this 7s season, we have entered into five tournaments including Middlesex Sevens and Summer Social, as well as tournaments outside of London. At Summer Social on 2nd June 2018, the ladies won all of their round robin games, making it to the semi final stages and narrowly missing out on the final spot.
This is a huge achievement for both the club and for Women’s Rugby, and we hope to expand on the Ladies Team at Thamesians RFC in the future.
