Thamesians produced an impressive home performance to overcome KCS Old Boys 43-28, with a powerful forward display laying the platform for an entertaining victory.
The hosts set the tone early, repeatedly getting over the gain line through some strong and direct carrying from the pack. Their dominance up front provided quick ball and front foot possession, allowing the Thamesians backs to play with confidence and exploit the space on offer going over 4 times in the first 30 mins.
KCS Old Boys proved a dangerous opponent throughout and stayed in the contest with some well-taken scores of their own. However, every time the visitors threatened to build momentum, Thamesians responded through their physicality and relentless work rate around the field.
The forward pack were outstanding, consistently punching holes in the defence and creating opportunities for those outside them. With the platform established, the backs took their chances superbly, showing pace and precision to convert pressure into points. Harvey in particular went on a rampage bouncing 5 KCS old boys on the way over the line.
Despite a competitive second half, Thamesians maintained control of the game and continued to find the scores needed to keep their opponents at arm's length.
A final score of 43-28 reflected a strong all round team performance and a deserved home victory for Thamesians.
